What Will The Kids Do At Camp?

Kids Camp 2008 will be filled with swimming, rock climbing, mini golf, basketball, volleyball, rollerskating, arcade games, special ministry services, and this year Fun Candy Games. Look for the Schedule to get a better idea of how each day goes.

How Big Of A Camp Is It (# of other kids there)?

Expect between 400-700 kids.

What Is The Ratio Of Sponsors To Kids?

Plan on taking 1 adult for every 10 kids.

Is There A Licensed Nurse At The Camp?

Yes, there is a nurse on staff at the camp 24 hours a day. All medications will be turned in to the camp nurse and distributed through them. Please do not send any supplements, medications, or over the counter drugs with out approval from a doctor. 

Can Parents Come For A Service?

Parents are permitted to attend the camp, but they must check in and wear a visitors name badge and they are restricted from interrupting their child's normal routine and scheduled activities. Overnight arrangements could be made at  the camp hotel or hotels in either Eldon or Osage Beach.

Is There A Dress code?

Yes.  Look at the "Info Sheet" on the Kids Camp home page to see a detailed list.

How Long Does This Camp Last?

Camp usually last from Monday 1: pm - Friday at 10:30 am.

How Much Involvement Will Our Kids Have With Kids From Other Churches?

Even if they are on different rotations, there are times through the day that they will be together with a variety of Kids from other churches and their own. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends and develop those relationships.

What Are The Benefits Of Going To A District Camp?

District Camps are quality camps that bring in some of the best speakers in the nation and offer wonderful facilities for our kids. They also allow our kids to interact with other kids from other churches, other sections, and even other states, giving them the chance to meet new friends and experience God in a new fresh way. 

Can a 7 year old go as a camper? Yes.  If you feel they could do alright away from home for 4 nights then okay.  You make the call. 

Can a 13 year old go as a camper?  Yes.  Since our staff is for 15 years and up this will keep them out of kids camp for a couple years.  To make up one year they can come as a camper the other can be attended as a staffer if a parent or grandparent comes and works also. 

Where is the Camp?  Lake of the Ozarks is in the central part of Missouri near Osage Beach, south of Jefferson City about 40 miles. 

If we pay the $25 for pre-registration, how much do we owe?  $115 if you are a SMD church and you have registered before the deadline.   Addtitional costs:  Non SMD church : additional $25 per person,  Late Fee: $15, Incomplete forms: $5, Cancellation fee: $15, Hotel room: $100 a room.

Do workers need to pay to come to camp?  No.  We provide meals, and free housing. The only cost for workers is to stay in our very nice Hotel rooms.  $100 per room with 2 people.

Can Counselors stay in the hotel?  No. Counselors must stay in the dorm to supervise the kids through the night.

What is the price for 1 worker in the Hotel?  $25 per night

What is the price for 1 worker and 1 child?  $25 per night

What is the price of 1 worker and 1 spouse plus children?  $25 per night for Worker and Spouse.  Additional $5 per child per night.

Can more than two adults stay in a Hotel room?  No. Only 2 adults are allowed to stay per room during camp.
